Pleasant mornings with colder evenings. The weather forecast at Kesroli as of now shows sunny skies with temperatures ranging from 28-11 degree Celsius (83-53 degree Fahrenheit).

What is the room situation?

Kesroli is an old fort, so rooms vary in size and capacity, from 2-bedded rooms to 5-bedded rooms. We’ve made every effort to ensure you’re staying with friends and people you know, but given the capacity and non-traditional, non-hotel layout, you’re probably not sharing a room with your partner or 1 other friend. Please reach out to us if you have questions about this, we’re happy to talk through it and make sure you’re comfortable.

When should I RSVP by?

As soon as possible, ideally! But please let us know your plans for sure before September 30.

Book your flights first. Ticket prices might inform your itinerary. Check flights as follows:

If you plan to explore Mumbai;

Round trip: NYC - Mumbai - NYC

Multi-city: NYC - Delhi - Mumbai - NYC

Multi-city: NYC - Mumbai - Delhi - NYC

We recommend booking your flights as soon as possible. Delhi and Mumbai will be convenient to fly in and out of because there are several options for flights to the US. November-end is not peak travel season so you should find tickets in the range of 800-1200 USD. If you see something on the lower end of this, snap it up because that's a good deal.

What should I do about accommodation?

Fair question. We've prepared a short essay.

For the wedding dates, Nov 27-28 (check out on 29th), you don't need to make any bookings for accommodation at Kesroli Fort.

For the remainder of your trip, hotels are your best bet. You can find good deals on 3- to 4-star hotels in major cities. However, don't go by ratings you might see on sites like Booking.com. Stick to booking major hotel chains (Jaypee, Radisson, Ramada, Pullman, Novotel, etc.). Aerocity in Delhi and Bandra-Kurla Complex in Mumbai are business neighborhoods with several chain hotels that are close to the airport.

5-star hotels in India (think Hilton, Sheraton, Hyatt, Leela, etc.) are reasonably priced and have hospitality par excellence in all the cities we've suggested on the Planning Your Trip page. You'll find 5-star hotels in the range of 200-250 USD per night.

There are also older hotels knitted into cities’ fabrics for years that are definitely worth considering for 1-2 nights; great for unique, luxury stays. You can find these for around ~300 USD per night if you book early.

Mumbai: Taj Palace Colaba, Taj Lands End, Trident Nariman Point

Jaipur: Rambagh Palace, Taj Jai Mahal, Oberoi Raj Vilas, ITC Rajputana

Agra: Oberoi Amar Vilas, Trident Agra, ITC Mughal

Apart from these, there are ultra-luxe hotels (upwards of 1000 USD per night) like Amanbagh in Sariska (close to the wedding venue), Umaid Bhavan in Jodhpur, and Lake Palace in Udaipur. These are retreat-style, so you’d pick these to enjoy the property and spend time there instead of venturing out.

Please. I’m an off-beat traveler. What about Airbnb?

Um. No? Not because it’s bad. We’ve stayed in some excellent ones, but it might be challenging to filter for quality and figure out logistics like keyless check-in, trash disposal etc., especially in smaller cities. You can definitely explore Airbnbs in Delhi, Mumbai, Bangalore and Goa if you like, but avoid them in other places.

Can I bring a +1?
